Starlight Mountain Theater

On Friday night Kim, Jen an I went to Oklahoma (the play) at starlight mountain theater and then camped in Garden Valley for the night. First of all Tyson, a guy in my neighborhood and pictured, played Curley. He did an amazing job. He has a great voice and plus a guy in a cowboy hat and chaps.. how could any Idaho girl resist? So other than the fact that he isn't all that tall, with an average male height of only 5`9" what can we expect? and the largest issue being that he is only 18. Regardless, I can dream right! Second, our camping trip. It was a first for all three of us to be camping with out a male figure there to start our fire, or cook our dutch oven, set up our tent ect.. However we did amazing! We set up our tent in record time with no issues, ps it was really easy, Kim had our fire going in a matter of seconds using the log cabin technique, we baked our own cobbler which tasted amazing, and even scared off our own nigh prowler. Night prowler!! Yes it is true Pepe Le Peu decided to come visit us. Not to worry we didn't get sprayed!!! All in all I would say that we had a bast even if Jen beat us in Phase 10!

Boise Hawks

For a ward activity we went to a Hawks game. It was really fun for the four innings, but then Jen, Kim and I decided it was time to go running... about this running idea, it seems to be taking over my life! I find my self scheduling my day, actually mainly my showers and my nights around when I need to be running. I can't say that I love it, I can say that I hate it, but it has been great for me as far as getting in shape:) This is a random picture of the first and second counselors in my ware. I absolutely love and admire these two men. Don't get me wrong I love my Bishop too... he was just inside when we took this picture..

Twlight Criterium

Last weekend Jen, Kim, and I went downtown and watched the Twilight Criterium. The riders will ride for a specific amount of time and after that time they then ride for a set amount of laps.The winner was said to be ridding about 30 miles an hour for an hour and a half. After watching for a while and getting a picture, which I took over everyone else heads... one of very FEW good things about being tall... we went to the Melting Pot for dessert. And OH! what a treat it was!!! We got Cookies and Cream chocolate and then dipped all these wonderful treat into it. I wouldn't be opposed to going back... :) By the end of the night we were exhausted... and no we didn't ride in the Criterium... with the rodeo Friday night, the Temple Saturday morning and the Criterium Saturday night... we were ready to go to bed... and maybe ready to be away from each other??? just kidding I love these two girls and don't know what I would do with out them in my life!

Stampeade and Twin Falls Temple

I know what do they, the rodeo and the temple, have in common... nothing, other than I went to the rodeo on Friday night and went to the Twin Falls Temple open house on Saturday morning. The rodeo was a blast!!! My favorite part is the mutton busting, or maybe the team roping, or maybe the bucking broncos, or the bull ridding, no I just remembered the COWBOYS (duh what was I thinking) now that was amazing! I got a new shirt and a hat... but I don't have a picture, not to worry though I will be going to the Caldwell night rodeo in a few weeks so I'll be sure to get a picture. The Temple was an amazing experience, it is beautiful in side and out. These sacred houses built for our use are a great blessing in our lives.
They are two totally different experiences I know but I enjoyed both of them.

I know what you are thinking!!! 3 in one day can it really be??? Well my friends it is true you are not just dreaming!!! The second and third weeks of July were spent with my wonderful cousin Jenifer. We watched some good old Jane Austin classics, swam, spent a weekend in Provo, shopped, and somewhere in all that I worked...
Yes we watched the real Pride and Prejudice, PS Colin Firth is amazingly attractive!!! Emma, Sense and Sensibility, the short Pride and Prejudice, Ever After, and I think that is it. We also spent a lot of time at a nice little restaurant called Costa Vida. Love that place however, we are on a little bit of a break. I think I may have gone there like 5 times in two weeks... twice in one day... like I said we are on a bit of a break. Out weekend in Provo was to support our other cousin Katie in her Young Ambassadors Camp at BYU. She did an amazing job in Fiddler on the Roof. While we were there we of course went shopping and just enjoyed being with the cousins! One highlight of the trip was our late night chatswith my Aunt and her friend Lori... Pretty much they are funny especially late at night. (Rosie I don't know if you read this... but COB's stand for Crusty Old Broads, not the other words we came up with... Lori!) Oh and did I mention our fashion shows to show off our latest buys? I loved my weekend in Provo perhaps I will have to go back!!!
Oh and one more thing in Provo I was able to see one of my best friends from St. George and got to breakfast with her and her husband at Village Inn. All I have to say about that is check the salt shaker before you use it. My friend found one live tiny little bug in it and then one dead one. Yeah I lost my appitite too!! But we got free meals and a discount on our food... and I lived to tell about it!

To Run or Not to Run...

A couple girlfriends and I have decided to run for the Womans Celebration this fall... What was I thinking? I don't really like to run but regardless it can't really hurt me to get into shape. So we had Werner Hoeger ( a BSU professor and Olympic Athlete) write us up a training plan. After about 2 weeks of actually doing what I was supposed to do for my training I treated my self to some nice new running shoes. I was running in some trail shoes before and needed some running shoes if I was actually going to do this. To this day we still do it every M,W,F,S. It amazes me that I put my self through such things but we really do have fun together!

Oh my July just went by...

Ok so this is one of many posts in playing catch up....
June ended with a trip to a lake in Emmett Idaho with my ward and two my cousins. Marianne, (the one holding the baby) decided to let her foot get hit by the propeller, so she got a nice little cut on the top of her foot and it was swelling fast. After debating what to do we went to a doc in the box...PS they don't have one in Emmet that is open on the weekends. So the next best thing was the ER in Emmett after debating if it was worth a trip to the ER we decided to just go home and let my dad take care of things so off to Boise we went. Dad said that just to be sure she should get it checked out after a trip to the doctor, it was concluded that there were no broken bones just a nice little gash that he glued shut.

July started with the family reunion... This picture is of the cousins who are closest to my age, besides the baby who is my cousins kid. We had a blast spending time together at a 4-H camp in Cascade right on the lake. It was beautiful and a blast! My cousin Nathan tried to help me get up on the wake board and all that came of that was him getting hit with the board in the stomach and loosing his sunglasses. You'd think after all that trouble I would at least get up... Thanks Nathan for the help one day I'll be able to get up! One of the little traditions include late night games and late late night games(after all the little kids are in bed...we love the little ones but the snacks come out after they are in bed :). The first night we had like a bag of cookies for treats, but when you have like 20-25 people playing games til 2 you get hungry so the announcement was made the next morning for donations. After all was said and done a couple of us girls ran to McCall (ok we drove not ran) and spent a good $150 on...JUNK FOOD!!! I know it is quite gross, but it lasted us for like 3 days and we even had afternoon snacks for the kids. And we had Dr. Pepper to keep us awake on those late nights along with candy and snacks... yeah about my diet it went out the window that week!!! My cousin Jason taught me and my grandmother to play Texas Hold 'em, yeah my grandma beat me! Then there were the endless Nerts games, Mormon Bridge, pirates dice, and even some Thirdeen. All in all if you didn't have fun it was probably your own fault for not joining in on something!
Then that weekend we went off to swim at my aunts house for the 4th of July and had some nice little fireworks and off to "bed" we went. With four girls sleeping on air mattresses in the kitchen I don't know how much sleep we actually got. :) Then Saturday was off to boondocks fun Center for a little go-carting, and lazer tag and last but not least the arcade games. With our tickets we decided to get "cousin bracelets" I know we are kinda weird but we had fun! That pretty much sums up the first week of July...
